Our Work

Restore Merced creates opportunities for people to move from instability to stability by embracing God’s story of transformation. Our work brings people together who would never know each other. It creates friendships among people who otherwise would be enemies. 

The Story of God involves turning enemies into friends. Those who were once enemies of God, become a part of the family of God. Those who once sought to harm each other, become family and friends. Those who used to take from the community, begin to give back to the community in self-sacrificial ways.

As they grab hold of Christ and his story of change, our trainees are becoming the “oaks of righteousness” that God works through to “restore the places long devastated.” (Is. 61) It takes all of our stakeholders to build this kind of transformative community - including you. If we are going to become the people we want to be, and if Merced is going to become the kind of city that we all want it to be, then we must see that this is The Story that we are all invited into.
